About the Children's Workshop

What we do...

At 8.30am the team will be on the move, to the first assembly of the day. Assemblies are about 20 minutes; a game, a story, a Christian song, a bit of life application, a prayer – somewhere all of these things will have been thought about in our planning meetings and put together in order to give a fun and inspiring message about God, us and life.

Well that’s the first assembly over by 9.30am so it’s pack up the props and equipment and head off to wherever the second school may be to do it all over again!  Back to the office by 11am for a cup of tea and any preparations that need to be made.

Most days we split in two, so we can run Lunch Clubs.  Similar to assemblies in content but less on presentation and more on interaction – it’s only half an hour but it’s amazing what you can pack in.

Afternoons are often quite haphazard; we can have more assemblies, or lessons, or planning meetings, or simply office preparation for other projects such as this website, school clubs, children's weekends away or national children's and family events.

Julie Rhodes has been a part-time worker with CW since May 2004.

Julie lives in Hildenborough with her husband and two children.  She is a medical secretary by trade and is also Church Warden of Stocks Green church.

On top of all this she is studying for a theological certificate.

Mavis St. Pier has been volunteering with Children's Workshop since before anyone can remember; she is retired but as is often the case in retirement, she is busier than ever supporting a lot of community projects run by Tonbridge Baptist Church.

Tracey Fox is a full time mum and midday supervisor at Stocks Green school.  She is also a member of Stocks Green church.

John and Jane Middlemiss are the trustees and responsible for all the formal what-nots.

This web-site was designed by Keith Halstead.
